Sometimes a restaurant is so good that you have to come back ... and back, we did ... to Sabahattin's. The fish was perfect ... but I fell in love with an aubergine meze ... I tasted in New York and looked for recipes, but you can not compare ... Any help in finding the secret recipe? (I promise not to tell). Just wondering if anyone was in Taksim KV, either for food or a drink and music. Just to preempt, I already had a look through their website and have also already read Tom's page TTP. Just wondering if anyone has visited recently. Is the food okay? Also interested in music, can I eat and listen or is the stage for the group as a sort of bar room? There is a group that plays like to see, but I do not so long ago in Istanbul that I thought eating and listening, but do not want to compromise the... » Read more

My wife and I will be in Istanbul on Valentine's Day, and we're very excited. I tried to find a romantic restaurant to take her to the Valentine's Day, and my Internet search found Sarnic Restaurant. Unfortunately, all reviews are 3 years. The restaurant is still the most romantic restaurant in Istanbul? Are their other suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated. Hi all! There are some great recommendations in this forum and lots of information I'll be taking with me when we go to Istanbul in January, but unfortunately nobody answered the question about a Valentine's day dinner. My wife and I (both from Chile) will be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary in Istanbul on January 10th, 2007. » Read more AKPC_IDS += "2209,"; Popularity: unranked [?] Ralated posts Women traveling alone in Istanbul, seeking advice (0) Valentine suggestions?... » Read more
I would like to recommend two really good restaurants in the Sultanahmet area. Generally its hard to find cheap and good food as everything on Divan Yolu (main eatry area) is just ok not great. The first is Cağaloğlu Paksüt on BabaAli Caddesi off of Divan Yolu. Just go west on Divan Yolu and turn right at the first traffic light. The restaurant is about 50 yards down on the right side. This place was very popular among the locals but their timings were hard to figure out. I think the best time... » Read more
Hi folks, Although I've been back from Istanbul for nearly two months, I'm only now getting around to writing up my thoughts. Here is a summary of where we ate (mostly in Sultanahmet, since that's where we stayed). I'll followup later with links to my full reviews once I write them. » Read more AKPC_IDS += "2193,"; Popularity: unranked [?] Ralated posts Women traveling alone in Istanbul, seeking advice (0) Where to eat for our 3rd wedding anniversary? Istanbullus love to dine well. A typical Turkish evening is not spaghetti and four hours of TV, but a five-hour, sixcourse repast with a dozen friends. It used to be difficult to spend more than US$15 per person--with wine!--on any meal in the city (except at the Hilton). Those days are gone, but it's still one of the world's great eating cities in terms of value for money. » Read more AKPC_IDS += "2191,"; Popularity: unranked [?] Ralated posts Women traveling alone in Istanbul,... » Read more
